In "The Mountain," two climbers deal with their trust issues as they ascend to the summit.
As the episode opens, a group of six mountain climbers divide into two teams to scale a large mountain. As the first group of climbers goes up the ridge, there is trouble, and one of the men falls to his death.
Now, the two climbers must decide what to do. Bob wants to give up and go back, but Eldridge wants to continue. Eldridge knows that the others didn't want him on this expedition because they didn't trust his nerve. They can sense his fear of climbing.
Eldridge wants to to prove that he can do it, and refuses to go back. Will they make it to the peak? Can Bob trust Eldridge?
"The Mountain" was written by Antony Ellis and produced/directed by Elliot Lewis. John Hodiak starred. Also appearing were Ben Wright, Joseph Kearns, Paul Frees, John S. Fraser, and James McCallion. This episode aired on March 16, 1953.
