In "Death in Box 234," Frank Lovejoy stars as a bank employee who commits a a perfect crime and is later brought to justice by a parrot.
As the episode opens, a pet store owner, Mr. Jenson, walks into a bank with a bird cage full of money. He puts the money in a new safety deposit box, and then leaves. Harry, the teller who assigned him the box, then assigns the one right above it, box 234, to himself.
Harry hires a stooge to pretend to be the owner of box 234, and implements a plan to steal the contents of Mr. Jenson's box. He drugs the bank guard's thermos and then arranges for his hired man to come to the vault and empty box 233. Will Harry get his hands on Mr. Jenson's money? Or, perhaps something unexpected will happen?
"Death in Box 234" was written by Don Hahn and produced/directed by William N. Robson. Frank Lovejoy starred. Also appearing were Lou Krugman, Sam Pierce, and Edgar Stehli. This episode aired on March 15, 1959.
