In "The Cave-in," an accident in a coal mine traps three miners in a shaft...along with the corpse of a murdered man.
The episode opens in Welsh mining country, where an accident has trapped several coal miners inside of a shaft. A telephone allows them to communicate with their superintendant about the situation. They explain that three of them are still alive, but one of them has died...from poison!
While the trapped miners wait for help, police inspector Harry Glyd investigates the life of the murdered man. With a reputation for causing trouble with the ladies, most of the men in village are happy to hear the man is dead.
When Inspector Glyd goes down to the cave-in to help rescue the men, the tunnel collapses again and he accidentally becomes trapped inside with the miners. Is one of them the murderer he is looking for?
"The Cave-In was written, produced, and directed by Antony Ellis. Featured in the cast were Richard Peel, Tudor Owen, Jay Novello, Joseph Kearns, John Dodsworth, and Charles Davis. This episode aired on July 5, 1955.
