In "Speed Trap," two patrolmen chase a speeding car down a mountain road because one of them is married to the woman behind the wheel.
Art is new at his job, and his boss, Craig Hollister, is showing him the dangers of the mountain road that he has been assigned to patrol. Art is trying to make a good impression, but Hollister is distracted. He asked his wife to meet him at the station, but he knows that she is upset with him for having to work. Hollister also knows that she often drives too fast...and so he asks Art to stop the car. He wants to see how fast his wife comes down the mountain.
Shortly afterward, Hollister's worst fears come true when a sports car comes tearing down the road. The two patrolman try to stop her, but they fear the worst is inevitable. Will they be able to stop the speeding car before it reaches the police blockade?

I haven't heard the second version, but if it's more suspenseful than the first one, my nerves may not be up to it.
