Motorcitystacy

good story but one MAJOR flaw. According to radiogoldindex.com, Ruth says she remembers Harry from Stuyvesant High School. Stuyvesant High School was an all-boys high school until the late 60's!

"I Saw a picture of her on a Secret Detective magazine. She had a gun in one hand, a bottle in the other, and some guy was choking her. She looked good. "

lol

I enjoyed the first two versions of this one, but wasn't crazy about the third one. The acting in the earlier versions was better, imo, particularly Charlotte Lawrence. I've been very impressed with her ever since I heard "I Saw Myself Running." I wish she had made more appearances.

The male leads were also good. Dan Duryea is one of my favorite character actors. Nobody could play a sniveling snowball like him! He was in a ton of classic movies and some lesser known hidden gems, too. I' never heard of Tony Barrett before but he was also very good. Two different interpretations of the same charachter, but both were effective.

I'd also like to praise the excellent use of sound in the second version of the story. The crying baby, and the kid practicing violin were a great way to illustrate how well sound penetrated the girl's tenement apartment which reinforced the idea that the bad guy had to wait for the L to pass. Just really well done.
