Suspense's "Thou Shall Not Commit" starts out as a story of a doctor and wife who rekindle their love after moving to a remote tropical island. That is, until a manly sea captain blows ashore and the wife can't help but lust after him. The two start an affair and the doctor soon finds out.
He is willing to let go of his wife, if that is what she wants, but the problem doesn't really matter because the doctor will be dead soon. Nevermind the typhoon that is about to hit the island, the doctor's appendix is about to burst! The only way he can survive is if the sea captain performs the operation under the doctor's guidance...in the middle of a typhoon.
Will the captain take it as an opportunity to get rid of his competition, or will he discover which one of them is the truly manly man?
This episode is flawed by pretend pidgeon English, silly lusty dialogue, truly misguided characters, and over-the-top plot twists...but somehow it manages to entertain.
"Thou Shall Not Commit" was written by Richard Weil. William Robson produced and directed. Victor Jory starred. Also appearing were Ellen Morgan, Joe Di Santis, Andy Elona, and Ben Ben Wright. This episode aired on April 14, 1957.
