In "A Shroud for Sarah," Lucille Ball stars as a cold- hearted woman who will stop at nothing to satisfy her ambitions.
As the episode opens, George Monk has just committed a robbery, and in the process, a murder. When he tells his wife, Sarah, about the unexpected death in the heist they planned, she takes the stolen money and tells George to get down to the train station right away. Then, after he leaves, she tips off the police.
Sarah then returns home to her other husband, Peter, who is a candidate for governor. He knows that she has been up to no good, but Sarah doesn't have time to worry about what he thinks. She has to make sure that Peter wins the upcoming election, and in order to do that, she has to find a way to kill the other candidate!
With the help of the unscrupulous doctor, who treated the gunshot wound that Sarah "accidentally" inflicted upon Peter, she just might find a way to sway the election.
Will her plans work to her advantage, or, will Sarah find out how intensely she is disliked?
