Escape and Suspense! Vintage Radio, is a website specializing in the study of individual episodes from two popular anthology series that aired on CBS Radio during the mid-twentieth century. For more information, click on the link titled "An Introduction to this Website..." at the right side of this page.
Information about individual episodes is presented--but not summarized completely. To review or summarize an episode in its entirety presents the risk of ruining the experience for the listener or giving away the trick endings for which Suspense is famous. On this website, episodes are given a quick summary at the top and an introduction to the story...the rest of the experience is left to the listener.
Escape and Suspense! is not updated as often as it used to be, but the episodes and their summaries are timeless! So, don't worry about that.
Feel free to comment or drop us a line about your experience.
Thanks for stopping by!
I enjoy this site very much. I only wish I had found it when it was active. That would have been great fun. Thank you for all your work in putting this together.

Hi Philippa,
You are very welcome! I am glad that you found us.
I may get back to posting one of these days! It is only my work schedule that interferes with my love of old time radio.
Best,
Christine

So nice to see a recent comment from you, Christine! I have been so grateful to have this site to visit, and am still exploring its riches after several years (I pace myself). I've never needed the amusement and distraction more than I do right now, so even though you've been obliged to take a break from it, I'm very glad that it's still here. Thanks so much for all you've done.

It's lovely to see recent comments from you, Christine, and from others, too! I understand how work interferes with pleasures such as OTR, yet I am hopeful you'll be able to pop in here often. I look forward to reading comments from everyone. After listening to most of the best of "Suspense!" I am now enjoying "Escape."
Thank you, again, for this Website.

Hi Christine. Ralph (radiomensa) here. I'm surprised to see the last update is from 2-4-14. I hope you have not been ill. - I haven't been around for a while. Career change, back injury, retirement, relocation and so on. - Life finally settled into a retirement routine. - Good to see your site is still alive.

Christine, have you attended Noir City again since your last post a few years ago? They sound fascinating.

Hi Philippa,
Oh yes! I have been going every year. I love Noir City. It is the best thing in January!
I think I will start working on a post about the last few Noir City festivals in order to start catching up on things.
Best,
Christine

Christine - - please accept my heartiest thanks for posting these. I am able to listen as I go about my workday. These programs engage my mind through even the most tedious work. It must have taken ages for you to put together this site. Thank you so much!

I'm looking for "Allan In Wonderland," on "Suspense!" I'm unsure if it's Allan, Alan, or Allen, by the way. I'm also very interested in what you may know about Curt Singer, the main character who wrote the episode, basing it on a true incident from his life.
Thank you!
